Sports and entertainment from morning to night

Because it isn't only children who have the right to fun at the campsite, a range of activities and facilities are available for the pleasure of all. Whether you're travelling with your family, friends or a loved one, you will find plenty to do on-site or in the immediate surroundings of the campsite in Soulac-sur-Mer.

Firstly, you will be able to do some sport on your own or with others and keep fit during your holiday. Fitness, stretching and aquagym classes are organised regularly to get you motivated with a group, and a weight-training room is available free of charge from 8am to 11pm. If you fancy something slightly more relaxing, yoga sessions are also held during the week.

With your family or friends, have fun at the sports field, where you will find table tennis, basketball, mini-golf and pétanque. And, to make sure you don't leave anything out, enjoy a pedal go-karting tour of the campsite.

    Board sports on your doorstep

If you're planning a holiday on the Atlantic coast, water sports are a must. Bring your surfboard, flippers or even the children's armbands and spades, and prepare yourself to tackle the ocean waves and relax on the supervised, sandy beaches.

Thrill-seekers will have the chance to try parasailing, windsurfing or water skiing. For a calmer, more relaxing atmosphere, take a canoe/kayak trip along the channel or try your hand at shore fishing.

Things to see and do in and around Soulac-sur-Mer

The Médoc amazes visitors with its natural and cultural heritage that offers a rich history and plenty of new discoveries. As you stroll around the village, the first thing you will notice is the unique, well-preserved architecture dating from the early 20th century, with its many neo-colonial style villas built in brick. Take time to visit Notre-Dame de Fin des Terres basilica, which used to be completely buried in the sand.

While you're there, pay a visit to Soulac-sur-Mer market, which is famous in the region. You will be able to sample some of the region's great tastes: Médoc oysters, catch of the day, eels and lampreys, local cold meats, and more. The covered market is open every day in high season.

If you are there on the first weekend in June, be sure to pay a visit to the Soulac 1900 festival, which offers you the chance to step back in time to "La Belle Époque" with horse-drawn carriages and street entertainment, dance evenings, old cars and a market.

Finally, when you are in the area, there are a few places not to be missed that are located just a few kilometres from Domaine Les Carrelets:

    • The Hourtin dunes and marshes national nature reserve for educational family walks to learn more about the local flora and fauna.
    • The Médoc wine route, to explore this emblematic French vineyard and enjoy some wine-tasting in an exceptional natural setting.
    • The Cordouan lighthouse, accessible by boat from Port-Médoc, is the last French lighthouse still manned year-round!

And keen walkers and cyclists can venture out along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela or the Vélodyssée, both just 3 km from the campsite.
