I want to begin this by saying we absolutely LOVED our stay at Camping La Capricieuse this summer! We came by ferry from the UK, docking in Ouistreham, making a very short car journey to the site. We arrived on site an hour before check in, hoping to make use of the bar whilst we waited, but we're delighted to find our accommodation was ready and waiting! We booked a 2 bedroom premium cottage and wow! It was so spotlessly clean! Our pitch was smaller than some others on the site (I think all of the pitches are quite small, but I think you get this on popular sites that are close to the sea anyway) but I loved how quiet and private our pitch was (though the adjacent cycle path was very occasionally noisy overnight), and I liked that while the car wasn't far away, we were away from the road through the site. WiFi came with our cottage, and we found speeds to be great for our needs. The kitchen was well equipped - even the knives were sharp and usable! One thing to note if you are British is that there is no oven in the units. I was aware this would likely be the case (it's not the French way), but I wanted to highlight this as I saw another reviewer note this negatively! There is, however, a microwave / grill and a high-quality barbecue provided, as well as the hob. The pool areas are a great size and spotlessly clean, with a well equipped changing area and lockers, too. As we were there for so long I did use the on-site laundrette which was really clean, though very busy the second time I went! We did eat at the on-site restaurant. The food was ok, but not fantastic. On the second occasion, our food was served cold, though chips at the bottom were warm, so I think it had been waiting to be served too long. To be fair we didn't ask for this to be rectified due to time constraints. Well laid out site, welcoming staff. Convenient for all of our Normandy commemorative tour. Very convenient restaurant, launderette. Clean facilities in en-suite my only comment is in minor maintenance where the wash basin waste water trap was slow at emptying and the extractor fan did not function.

The location is wonderful, very close to Luc-sur-Mer and its Sword and Juno D-Day beaches. The chalets are great, and consistent with the other Yelloh! Villages we've visited. Our daughter loved the pool and play areas, and my wife and I enjoyed the restaurant with its excellent food and drink options. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and we are already discussing returning.

Very pleased with the accommodation which was clean and well equipped. The site itself was also clean and well set out with lots of flowering shrubs. The family thought the swimming pools were great but thought a slide into the out door pool would add something to the experience. The restaurant was good and the food excellent.

We had a really lovely time at La Capricieuse in August. We went with another family and they accommodated our request to have our cabins next to each other. The staff were all amazing and the site was very clean. The pools were very fun and there was something for everyone. The kids enjoyed the Kids Club activities and the multiple playgrounds on site. It was never too busy and the place felt very calm. Luc-Sur-Mer was very sweet, and had enough to keep us entertained for the week. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed staying here and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay and the nice modern facilities. There were a few drawbacks however that prevented it from getting a 10/10: - The cabins are very close together with poor insulation that we can basically hear our neighbours conversations even with the windows closed. Our neighbours towards the end of the stay were also regular smokers so we couldn't ventilate our bathroom, toilet and kitchen because of the cigarette smoke that would come inside. Noise is one thing - it's essentially a campground after all - but cigarette smoke is gross and so bad for children. Perhaps cabins need to be non-smoking and a dedicated area for smoking away from accommodation is created? - The microwave wasn't big enough to accommodate a normal size dinner plate. When an oven isn't provided, we would have appreciated a larger microwave for cooking rather than two different coffee machines. - The sheets provided were too small for purpose and kept scrunching up during the night to reveal the mattress protector underneath which was slippery and would have contributed to this. Fitted sheets would be so much nicer to sleep in, and more hygienic. We absolutely loved the fresh baguettes and croissants everyday at the bakery and the meals we had at the restaurant were very tasty and good value. All staff were very friendly and accommodating with our very poor French!

Very clean, well thought out accommodation, we had a very comfortable stay. Wonderful facilities, we were very impressed with the pool, how clean it was. The kids pool slide broke during our stay and it was fixed within 24 hours which we were very impressed by. We will definitely consider visiting again
