The most beautiful beaches close to the Son Bou campsite
Natural little creeks surrounded by cliffs, popular and lively fine sandy beaches, etc. There are almost 80 beaches on Minorca with something to suit everyone’s tastes. Thanks to its marvellous location in the heart of the Mediterranean under a hot Spanish sun, Minorca is a real paradise for anyone who loves swimming, sunbathing and making sandcastles.
- The beaches of the South coast : the South of the island is a realm of verdant green where pine forests and copses have made their home. The sea is a beautiful clear blue and is usually calmer and smoother than in the North of the island. You will love lying around on the beautiful white sandy beaches of Macarella, Macarelleta, Turqueta, Son Saura and Es Talaier.
- The beaches of the North coast : the North coast of the island is the wildest and this is where you will find a multitude of real wild unspoiled and secluded beaches. Cala Pregonda, Cavalleria beach and Favàritx beach (Tortuga and Presili) in Maó, less than an hour's drive away, are well worth a visit... Some are less wild and have tourist facilities such as Es Grau à Maó and Sa Mesquida beaches less than half an hour from the campsite. They are truly magnificent.
- Beaches with facilities : on both the North and South coasts of Minorca you will find well-known popular beaches that offer a wide range of activities. If you love a life of thrills come and play with the wind and the waves and discover some new sports at beaches like Son Bou beach, the biggest beach on Minorca, that is right next door to the campsite! Or the amazing Cala’n Bosch, Cala Morell and Son Xoriguer beaches not far from Ciutadella, Arena d’en Castell and Son Saura beaches, Cala Tirant beach at Es Mercadal, or Sa Mesquida and Es Grau beaches at Maó. So many wonderful beaches that are also very popular among the locals.
- Small wild beaches : there are so many sea caves and little creeks along the Minorcan coast in the Balearic Islands that are famous around the world. You will love relaxing on the sand and swimming in the turquoise waters. Try Cala de Sant Llorenç beach just 10 kilometres from the campsite. So quiet that you will feel alone in all the world.
