The Cèze Valley and Occitan Provence beckon!

The Cèze Valley is a prime example of the charm that characterises Occitan Provence. Also known as the Gard Rhodanien area, the region lies in the east of the Gard department and promises scenic outings through breathtaking landscapes. You can enjoy a dip in the River Cèze or you can meander along the paths that follow its banks. On foot, or on two wheels!

And take the time to explore the local villages, which are teeming with charm. Starting with La Roque-sur-Cèze, where your Yelloh! Village Les Cascades campsite is located. It has been officially labelled one of the most beautiful villages in France. In fact, three other villages in the Gard have been awarded this title: Lussan, Montclus and Aiguèze. They’re all within easy reach of the campsite.

Some of the other villages in the area are also worth a visit. Take Gourdargues, for example, nicknamed the Venice of the Gard for the canals that criss-cross its centre. Or Cornillon, a medieval hilltop village. And finally Barjac, with its enchanting heritage, nestled between the Gorges de la Cèze and the Gorges de l’Ardèche.
