Leiria District is located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, just north of Lisbon. Located on the Costa de Prata, or “Silver coast” named in reference to the silver colour the Atlantic Ocean takes on in the sunshine, Leiria District stretches over 280 km. The district is very large and a real treat for visitors with its abundance of fine sandy beaches and authentic historical buildings. It has a beautiful coastline and forests interspersed with picturesque towns, monasteries and castles, making it the ideal place for anyone seeking culture and relaxation.
