You’re staying on the Île de Ré? Great! We have an exceptional spot to share with you: La Flotte. Come and explore one of the oldest villages on the Île de Ré, with a unique history and character.

Do you know La Flotte?

During your holiday on the Île de Ré, you can’t miss the village of La Flotte, the island’s oldest. A picturesque fishing village, today listed as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France”, you can’t help but fall under the charm of its heritage and remarkable architecture.

As you amble through its narrow flower-decked streets, you’ll arrive at the village’s fishing harbour and marina. Take time out to admire the old boats, some of which are listed historical monuments today. The quayside is buzzing with life and a wealth of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours. And you certainly shouldn’t miss the market: the perfect place to find all the traditional, local and regional produce you could want, or simply enjoy the pleasure of wandering between the stalls of the covered “halles” dating from the 17th century.

Continue your exploration. As you stroll beneath the plane trees of Cours Félix Faure look up and admire the old fishermen’s houses built back in the 18th century.
