Camping Mios

Come and acquaint yourself with Mios, a town that's great for a trip with the family, close to Arcachon Bay and the lakes of the Landes region. All sorts of leisure activities are available for people of all ages!

Do you know Mios?

Mios is one of several delightful towns found in the Landes de Gascogne regional natural park, very close to Arcachon Bay. The Eyre, one of the Bay's tributaries, passes through the commune, which gives the town a real natural charm. This quite wild setting means there is a variety of hiking trails to choose from, whether it's beside the Eyre, beneath the pine trees of the forest or in Birabeille park.

But that's not all! Its environment is also suitable for various outdoor activities. On the water, on the land or in the air! Have loads of fun outdoors and make the most of the climate of the Landes with your friends or your family!

And Mios is a lively place too! Whether you come here during low or high season, you'll be able to take part in events organised by the town, including music festivals, art exhibitions, cultural events, shows etc.

Did you know?

While Mios is of course more energised during the summer, it is still full of life throughout the year. With its variety of natural green spaces and its proximity to the greater Bordeaux area and Arcachon Bay, it draws increasing numbers of visitors. Mios is actually experiencing the highest increase in population of all the communes in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

On the menu?

As mentioned earlier, it would be impossible not to come and enjoy the shores of the Eyre and the pine forest here. See the wide variety of local flora and fauna by bike, on foot or on horseback. But there are other options too! You could come and admire the scenery by hiring a canoe, which is a great option in summer, as a way of continuing your tour and keeping cool at the same time. Or how about looking a little higher up! A tree-top adventure trail provides an opportunity to climb among the trees and take in the wonderful views.

Speaking of views, hikers and cyclists can also enjoy some 360 degree ones! Head for the Belvédère, which is a location designed for bird watching, as well as providing breathtaking views of the park of the Landes de Gascogne. Climb to the top of the 17-metre structure, stopping off at each level. Every one of them is designed to allow you to see different aspects of the abundant nature of the Gironde.

Or maybe you're keener on the delights of bathing? Then head for the leisure centre beside the lake. As well as being able to relax and stroll around beneath the sunshine of Aquitaine, there are all sorts of activities available to choose from. Wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, waterskiing, slacklining, trampolining and paddleboard yoga can be enjoyed right there.

And finally, a lovely way of rounding off the day is a visit to Birabeille park a favourite among the locals. You could also have a bite to eat or have a nice drink here, at the ginguette (open-air café) beside the river. There's also a programme of musical events for every weekend during July and August, making those gentle evenings even more convivial!
