Here, countryside rules! Enjoy a walk in the wonderful grounds of Le Prélong, with its French-style garden, or how about a hike with the family along the "Greenway" around the volcano of Le Tartaret? This hiking trail is accessible to disabled visitors. The more adventurous among you will also be able to visit the caves at Rageat, with their ancient troglodyte dwellings. Take a moment to picture yourself as one of their early inhabitants…

A camping holiday in Murol

The Château de Murol will provide you with amazing views over the region. Guided tours, shows and historical re-enactments take place regularly here, which the whole family will love, and which will take them on a journey back in time to the Middle Ages and their knights!

Various artists have also been captivated by Murol, and many of them set up home here in the early 20th century, seduced by the stunning landscapes of Auvergne and its unique light.

And at the end of the afternoon, you can sit back on the terrace at a bar or restaurant in the town centre and enjoy some delicious local produce. You'll see that this is also a very good way of being cast under the town's spell!
