Notre-Dame-de-Monts is a delightful little seaside resort in the Vendée, and the perfect place for holidays with your family or friends. A superb seaside village which has retained all its charm and atmosphere is just waiting for you to come and visit! All sorts of shops and cultural events enliven the streets by day and by night, throughout the summer season. The gentle pace of life, the fine sand beaches looking out over the immensity of the Atlantic and the nature around you will all make for a truly unforgettable holiday.
On the programme?
With more than 8 beaches one after the other along a stretch of fine sand several kilometres in length, you'll soon find the beach of your dreams and lay down that towel, ready to start enjoying the Atlantic waters: with wild, busy, peaceful or action-focused beaches, you'll have quite a range to choose from! And with a wealth of watersports including sailing, canoeing and kayaking, sand yachting and fishing to choose from, people of all ages are set for a fantastic time!
Depending on the tides, this bank of sand is also home to the Pont d’Yeu, a 4 km link to the Ile d’Yeu which appears at low tide. With the perfect blend of pebbles and shells, it'll be your favourite playground if you're a fan of beach foraging!
Fancy getting away from it all and doing a bit of exploring? There are more than 60 km of walking trails around Notre-Dame-de-Monts! And from the top of the Kulmino water tower, you'll be able to take in the astonishing views over the Vendée's Marais Breton.
For the nature lovers among you, meanwhile, Notre-Dame-de-Monts is home to some wonderful forests, where you'll see the shows put on by the herons in their protected breeding grounds: the heronry. You'll only have to raise your eyes to see their nests! Continue your voyage of discovery with the Maison de la Dune et de la Forêt, where you'll acquaint yourselves with the shy and mysterious fauna which surround this location.
