The Muga, a playground for water sports

As well as being a campsite in the mountains, on the Spanish side of the Catalan Pyrenees, Yelloh! Village Bassegoda Park is close to the River Muga, the perfect spot for swimming as well as for water sports.

Over time, the Gorges of the Muga have carved out a natural path of uneven terrain and obstacles providing a wonderful place for canyoning and water trekking. Two activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family with plenty of excitement and refreshment!

Fishing is also permitted in the river provided you have obtained a fishing permit. Enjoy a moment in the great outdoors by the waterside, just a stone's throw from the campsite.

Important: fishing is only permitted if the fish are returned to their natural habitat. (No Kill)

    Sport in the great outdoors

The River Muga is not the only place where you can enjoy the great outdoors. There are also plenty of activities to be enjoyed in the mountains, with the added benefit of stunning views. One of the best ways to take in the scenery is by mountain bike. More than thirty routes pass through Albanyà and the campsite, including the famous trail that crosses the Pyrenees and ends in France. You can follow routes of varying distances and levels of difficulty meaning that you are always sure to find a route that suits your level.

The Empordà region is also great for hiking. Here again, there are many trails of varying distances. The town of Albanyà, where the campsite is located, is the start and/or finish point of many hiking trails. And there are plenty of other activities to be enjoyed nearby, such as visits to a farm, 4x4 excursions, or tours of pretty mountain villages, such as Sant Llorenç de la Muga.

    The land of mushrooms

When you arrive, you'll quickly notice something that can be found all over the campsite, on the logo and even as a statue near your accommodation. It’s a mushroom. Why? Quite simply because in such a wooded landscape, as soon as the temperatures become milder, many different types of mushroom grow in the region.

If you’re a fan of this amazing product, you can indulge in the pleasure of searching for it and savouring it in your dishes. And to add to the pleasure, the municipality of Albanyà organises the Mushroom Fair every autumn with a wide range of workshops, events, exhibitions and debates centred around mushrooms. The Bassegoda Park campsite awards the best harvest during a mushroom contest. With hundreds of kilos of mushrooms picked and presented each year, it’s an original and enjoyable event for all mushroom enthusiasts.

    Summer evenings

In summer, the days continue into the night beneath the stars. To make the most of it, Yelloh! Village Bassegoda Park invites you to the astronomical observatory for various activities on the theme of the cosmos, with explanations and live projections of the telescope on a large screen. There is also the possibility for you to enjoy a variety of themed evenings, shows and concerts on the restaurant terrace.
