Child-friendly amenities at Le Ridin campsite

At Le Ridin campsite, everything is designed with your youngsters in mind, with the aim of offering them memorable moments in fun but safe surroundings. Indoors, there’s a large games room where our smallest campers can play and explore. They can scramble up the climbing net, zoom down the slide or try a game of ping-pong. To inspire their creative side, there are tables and materials available so they can draw, colour or invent their own games. Close by, the covered swimming pool includes an aquatic playground, where they’ll love splashing around and giggling, even when the weather’s not so good outside.

Outdoors, there’s a well-appointed play area with two slides and other apparatus adapted to their age. And we’ve even got something for your tiniest tots, with a paddling pool where they can have a blast in complete safety, under the watchful eye of their parents.

    A friendly family campsite

What could be better than sharing authentic moments and simple pleasures with close ones during a family holiday? The camping has a pétanque pitch, a fitness room, a games room and an entertaining area for the youngest children. Everything to help you spend unforgettable moments with your family!

Take time to discover the region

Countless walking paths, hiking trails and 200 km of cycle paths wind through the region, some starting right at the entrance to your campsite. Simply rent a bike at reception or bring your own! There’s no better way to discover the Bay of Somme and savour the fresh sea air.

In summer, join a nature walk with a qualified guide from the Somme nature-walking association based in Saint-Valery. These outings are held twice a week – Thursdays for families and Tuesdays for children – and are a chance to gather seashells, samphire and sea asters, spot some of the bay’s many birds, and perhaps even glimpse the seals!

Delve into the Somme’s rich culture as you explore its most beautiful towns, from the vast sandy beach of Fort-Mahon to the majestic chalk cliffs of Ault. And take time to visit the medieval town of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, listed among France’s “Most Scenic Detours”. Inland, Abbeville is another must-see destination, a charming town filled with historical monuments and lovely parks. Finally, take a trip to Amiens, just an hour from the campsite, to discover the capital of the Somme department, known for its UNESCO-listed cathedral and enchanting medieval and Gothic atmosphere.

Aquatic pursuits in the Bay of Somme: a blend of adventure and relaxation

Let the rhythm of the sea and the tides guide you during your stay in the Somme. Just 3 kilometres from Le Ridin campsite, Le Crotoy beach is the perfect starting point to explore the Bay of Somme. Here, you can enjoy a variety of pursuits such as Hawaiian canoeing, kayaking, or longe-côte – or sea walking, an activity that’s accessible to all, combining exercise and relaxation in a stunning setting. These experiences offer a unique perspective of the estuary, bringing you closer to nature.

For thrill-seekers, Berck beach is a must with its well-known International Kite Festival, drawing enthusiasts from around the world each year. Alongside this spectacular display, the expansive beaches are also ideal for kitesurfing and sand yachting.

At Fort-Mahon, the watersports centre offers a range of activities like sailing and stand-up paddleboarding for a fun and sporty escapade. For a calmer pursuit, head to Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, where you can paddle in a kayak or Hawaiian canoe while observing the seals in their natural habitat.

With beaches like Cayeux-sur-Mer, ideal for kitesurfing, and Quend, a haven for shore fishing, the Bay of Somme is a dream destination for watersports enthusiasts and lovers of wide-open spaces.
