All the ingredients of a typical Provencal village come together here , with narrow little alleyways, ancient monuments and buildings, very fine mansions, the sound of the crickets and the shady squares, with some lovely restaurant terraces to relax in.
This perfectly restored village will be the perfect place for art & culture vultures, and after you've visited all sorts of little art galleries, craft workshops, the Musée des Santons and the Musée de l’Olivier, you can watch an audiovisual show about Van Gogh, at the Citadelle des Baux, and see the rocky cliffs of the Cathédrale d’Images, which is just outside the village, lit up, which makes for a really stirring experience!
Overlooking the village of Les Baux de Provence, the ruins of an ancient mediaeval castle provide a good reason for a lovely walk. Curious visitors can discover its past when they go to the Citadelle des Baux, a 7 hectare area in which you can find out all about the history of Provence. The Musée du Château invites you to see its historical reconstructions, from prehistory to the present day. Siege machinery dating back to the Middle Ages is also on show here!
Les Baux de Provence is also famous for its fine food, with all sorts of well-known restaurants. Come and wake up those taste buds by enjoying some of the delicious local produce here!
