Cellars and wines
The Loire Valley is also well-known for its fine food and vineyards. Wines as famous as Muscadet and Cabernet d’Anjou originate here. Enjoy a little time soaking up the region's famous "art de vivre" (art of living). You'll be able to visit all sorts of cellars in the campsite region. Winemakers will love telling you about what they do and giving you a taste of their wines!
The troglodyte village of Rochemenier
Anjou is also a region with troglodyte dwellings, which include more than 1000 km of tunnels. You'll find wine cellars, gîtes, artists' workshops and a zoo, as well as homes. Just a few kilometres from Saumur, some highly unusual dwellings emerge from the ground. Over an area of 20 hectares, the museum site of Rochemenier is an opportunity to find out about the fascinating lives of the people who lived here.
