Florac, which is said to be at the "crossroads of water and stone", is at the confluence of 4 rivers: the Source du Pêcher, the Tarnon, the Mimente and the Tarn. So nearby you're bound to find a river or waterway where you'll be able to soak up the delights of bathing or do some canoeing and kayaking, caving, canyoning or fishing. Florac is also an especially good place for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. All sorts of marked trails are available from Florac for walks in the great outdoors.
And the less energetic may wish to pay a visit to the château and the Source du Pêcher, which re-emerges in the middle of the town, forming waterfalls and pools, or go up the Rochefort (1066 m) and enjoy the views!
You'll soon see that Florac is the perfect destination for people looking to discover the Parc National des Cévennes and enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities available in the region.
During your camping holidays in Florac, don't forget its weekly market on Thursday mornings, where you'll find all sorts of local produce for sale. With cheese, charcuterie, aligot and plenty more, come and try the region's various specialities. Foodies will be in heaven!
