Lozère is the perfect destination for camping holidays for people who enjoy the countryside. In the heart of the Massif Central, Lozère is home to all sorts of exceptional and protected landscapes, which you'll have plenty of time to enjoy while hiking along the numerous paths which stretch through the department.
The vast grasslands of Aubrac, the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses, of which the Causse de Sauveterre and Causse Méjean are part, the Cévennes, the Gorges du Tarn and the Gorges du Chassezac are some of the wide open spaces available to you during your camping holiday in Lozère. So come and discover the immensity of its wild regions. On foot, by bike, by mountain bike or even on horseback, there are all sorts of different ways of enjoying the valleys and plains of the magnificent Lozère department.
But that's not where it ends, because from the campsite in Lozère there are some other totally unmissable locations. Come and cool off at the waterfall of Runes. Cut out of the rock, this waterfall, with its two cascades, one 46 metres high and the other 24 metres high, is a truly exceptional location in the Cévennes. And this also applies for the Cham des Bondons, Europe's second largest megalithic location after Carnac, and home to around 150 granite menhirs, which you can enjoy seeing for a couple of hours or for a whole day via the path known as the "Balade au Pays des Menhirs".
