Everything here revolves around the sea, with its yachting harbour - Europe's largest - containing huge numbers of white-hulled boats which will put you in mind of some distant horizons. The fishing harbour is the place to go to enjoy the early morning auction. Always an impressive affair, this proper fish market has an atmosphere all of its own. And in the afternoon, you can go and enjoy the beaches of Le Grau du Roi, which include the huge Plage de l'Espiguette, with sand dunes, limpid water, kitesurfing and white sand, which you're sure to love, just as so many holidaymakers have loved it before you.
During your camping holiday in Le Grau du Roi, you may even have the chance of an encounter with the king of the region: the bull! Like all the other Camargue towns, all sorts of events are held every summer which focus on bulls. With its fêtes votives (bull running), courses camarguaises (bull fighting in which raseteurs attempt to cut threads from the bulls' horns that are tied there before the fight), toro-piscine (games involving being chased by a cow across a pool). People of all age groups are sure to have a really fun and exciting time during their camping holiday in Le Grau du Roi.
